Rated 4 out of 5 by RubyConstruct from Nice shower door for the $$ I recently ordered this door for a project. I ordered it on a Friday and received it on Monday. I wasn't expecting such a responsive delivery time.The product itself was everything I expected based on the picture and description. The finish was excellent on the chrome pieces and the rollers glide very smoothly.This door has a very similar look to much more expensive doors.I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for the following reasons:The rail is not stiff enough, it deflects a bit as the weight of the door rolls across it.One of the bottom rollers could not be aligned to touch the rail so that it turned as the door moved, but the other roller did touch and would roll as the door moved.The mounting brackets for the rail were difficult to fine tune to exactly the right height due to their design.The installation instructions were for the 60 inch door which doesn't have the second smaller fixed panel.The track system at the bottom could use a redesign, it's very difficult to seal everything up so that water won't collect inside the track.

I purchased this shower door primarily because it was the only one I could find to fit the space without having to go to a custom order. I LOVE this door. It is beautiful. The ClearMax coating is wonderful. The door is easy to keep clean and clear. The rollers operate so smoothly. A couple of notes, it does require 2x6 blocking due to the weight of the doors. We did not install this door ourselves. We had our contractor install it and it took 3 guys. Not a do it yourself door unless you have some great friends.

In short, the door shattered into thousands of pieces injuring me and my four year old son. I have contacted Dreamworks, who referred me to Bath Authority, who promised that someone would call back, and you know the rest of the story - no one has called. The door broke when we opened it, seemingly exploded. I spoke with a glass expert, who explained that this type of glass can experience severe internal stress if there is an impurity introduced during the manufacturing process. Whether that is true or not, I do not know, but I do know that having over one hundred pounds of broken glass land on a four year old is not the vision that I had for this shower door. I pose this so that any potential purchasers understand that this product may not be safe based on our experience and that there is not an effective warranty.

The directions which come with the unit are not very clear on how to install. I had intended on installing myself. It is a good thing a friend of mine is a professional installer. Both doors look great. One of the doors did have a small imperfection.

Rated 1 out of 5 by BL from The bottom track needs a redesign I have not found a way to keep water out of the track and it compromises the glass door. I'm on my second time uninstalling and trying to reseal the track. The track collects water, mold develops and breaks down any silicone seal applied over time. Dreamline needs to come up with a redesigned system to hold the glass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by City slicker from Beautiful This is a solid, sturdy shower door. Looks beautiful!Just one word of caution - it takes up almost 4 inches of space in the shower. We have a 30 by 60 shower and with the door installed, we actually have a narrow 26 x 60 shower. Otherwise it's great glides smoothly and we love it.

This will all depend on whether the item is in stock or not and it will also depend on where it will be shipping to. Other than a one inch wide rail at bottom, is there supposed to be another longer rail along bottom?
Please note that this model, the DreamLine Enigma, is now discontinued and has been for some time now. The bottom rail will actually require 3-3/4" for the Enigma model. In our current product line, the closest in style to the Enigma shower door is the Enigma-XO which does not use a bottom rail, but will need 2-3/4" of threshold space for the bottom guide block.

I'm wanting to purchase a 54" wide shower pan. Will this glass unit work for that width pan?

With a 54" shower base, you would need a 50-54" Enigma-XO, which looks very similar to the Enigma but is 3/8" class and will work with our 54" shower base. Please keep in mind that your walls must be plumb for installation of the Enigma-XO. I have provided a link below.

Is the glass Clear or Ultra Clear with no green tint to it?
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The greenish tint that is inherent in glass is caused by the amount of iron ore used in the production of the glass. DreamLine stock products are produced with glass that does use iron ore in the production. The greenish tint is most evident when you are looking directly at the edge of the glass. Many DreamLine models can be produced in low iron glass by working with your retailer and DreamLine's Custom Glass Group. Your retailer will need to send an email to [email protected] with your finished dimensions and specifications. Our Custom Glass Group will return a quote to your retailer within 1-2 business days for you to consider.
