I have a customer with a 64” opening.  Do u have a system that will work?

Asked by: Kevin99
Thank you for your interest in DreamLine Shower Doors! In our core product line, the largest finished opening width that the Charisma will fit is 56"-60". This model is customizable but due to hardware restrictions, this model cannot be customized for a 64" finished opening width. Again, thank you for contacting DreamLine Shower Doors! If you have any other questions, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm EST and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Am I correct in thinking there are no metal side rails on these shower doors? How does water not leak out a bit on the sides when shower is running, if there is not metal side rails???

Asked by: pati
Thank you for your interest in DreamLine Shower Doors! Yes, you are correct. There are no metal side rails on the Charisma model. This model offers no room for out of plumb adjustment, meaning your walls would need to be perfectly straight for proper installation. Models that offer out of plumb adjustment have metal strips, i.e. wall profile or u-channel that assist with the out of plumb adjustment. To help prevent water leakage, DreamLine provides Bumper strips with this model. The Bumper Strips would be attached to the vertical edges of the glass doors during the installation process. The specs for the DreamLine Charisma 44-48 in. wide Frameless Bypass Sliding Shower Door state it has a 25-29 in. walk-in opening. But the opening can't be more than half of the overall width unless it uses more than 2 doors. Explain? Thanks.

Asked by: Dave M
I'm definitely referring to the DreamLine Charisma. If you look at the Specifications Tab, it correctly lists the Width as 44-48" but incorrectly states the Walk-In Opening is 25-29".

Is the weight of the glass primarily supported by the bottom guide rail or the top guide rail?

Asked by: Raymond
Thank you for your question. Yes, the Charisma is primarily supported by the top and bottom guide rails. The Charisma is not installed with any wall profiles, which is why it is one of our unforgiving shower doors for out of plumb adjustment. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact our DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866-731-2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm EST. You may also send us an email at support@dreamline.com. Thank you for you interest in DreamLine!

Is is possible to have the right hand door slide over the outside of the left door? If not, is their another type door that accommodates a left side shower head with right side opening?

Asked by: Yosh
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The Charisma is a great choice when you need to have the inside panel on the same side as the shower head because both panels move. Bypass doors, such as the Charisma, allow you to position the inside panel to minimize the possibility of leaking. what is the width needed on the shower base threshold for the charisma/how wide is the base plate of the charisma door (2inch, 3inch)?

Asked by: remodelinks
Great question! You will need a 1-15/16" (basically 2") shower threshold to install the Charisma. Hope this helps. My shower opening is 55.5 inches wide. Will I be able to use a 56 - 60 inch sliding shower door?

Asked by: ruben62
Great question, Ruben62! DreamLine recommends the Charisma for an opening between 56-50" wide. You can certainly adjust it down to 55-1/2" wide but please be aware that this will decrease your opening size and increase the overlap of your shower door panels when they are in the closed position. Hope this helps in your decision making. If you have any other questions, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm EST and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com.
