Essence Sliding Shower Door is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Modern Design; Disappointing Material Quality Really like the brushed nickel frameless design. However, the materials and sturdiness of doors is disappointing. The bottom track brackets are made of plastic. The vertical frames utilize a flimsy vinyl strip to keep water splash in. The doors squeak when opening and closing. The towel bars are made of hollow aluminum and not a solid bar and the finish shows smudges.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from beautiful but flawed This door is gorgeous and just what we wanted. However, there is a HUGE gap between the panes that allows water to escape if water stream hits doors. Even worse the low profile metal strip at the bottom... terrible design. The tolerance of the receiver is extremely small, with no adjustment so if they are off even 1/16" the doors will hit the receivers and have to flex to close. But the worst part is the tiny metal strip on the bottom has NO weatherstrip which allows water to literally splash out right under the door. And if the stream of water hits the door the water just flows up and over the sill. Its ironic that they provide very effective weatherstrip for the sides, but none for the bottom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Shower Doors We just recently needed new shower doors for our Master Bathroom and I was recommended by a friend to check our Dreamline and I am very happy that I did. I actually had someone come out and install my shower doors and they had no issue with the instructions as some have stated. The gentleman that installed our doors however insured us that he does this quite often so I think this is why he was able to install with ease. Reading other reviews I was nervous of the finish and the plastic pieces that everyone was mentioning prior to me purchasing the doors, but once installed and seeing them up I think the shower doors are perfect! They do not look plastic to me nor feel cheap at all, I am very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I have had this shower door installed for about a month, and I really like it. The width of mine is between 56" and 60" - formerly a standard tub. The overall look is sleek, the materials have a very high quality appearance and the doors work well for me so far, and I feel that it will last well. I had a contractor install the door, which was definitely the right thing to do for me. After he was finished I got excellent help from the technical support people at Dreamline on a follow-up that I needed. I felt the price was very reasonable. Overall, very thumbs up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sharp looking shower door My husband and I just finished remodeling our master bath. We took out a fiber glass tub surround, installed marble tile and this shower door sets it off nicely. Same problem with the instructions as other comment - but DreamLine emailed the correct ones. Pretty easy to install and very heavy doors (a little too heavy for senior citizens to install but we managed and really appreciate that they are so heavy now they are in use).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Door This is a fine door, very heavy and a good buy. The only problem is that the installation directions which were packaged with the product were apparently for an older design, and did not match the parts list of the door which was sent. I was able to get help from Dreamline online and download the revised installation instructions. It is apparent from other comments that this problem has occurred before.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty nice shower door kit. Just installed this today. Well designed. Excellent instructions. Nice looking product. As long as your walls are plumb and the threshold level your in good shape. There’s a nice elliptical roller adjustment to fine tune the doors make even contact with the walls. Installer note: If you are installing on tile walls make sure to have a diamond bit for your drill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful shower door and amazing customer service This is a beautiful shower door I bought to complete my spa inspired bathroom remodel. I also purchased the bathtub Essence door for my other bathroom. It looks amazing. Also, amazing customer service! My installer broke some parts during install and Dreamline shipped them out to me right away at no cost. Couldn't be happier! Thank you!

What is the difference between Essence SHDR-6360760-04 and Essence-H SHDR-636076H-04?

Asked by: Sal47
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The differences in the Essence and Essence-H appear mainly in the wall profiles, guide blocks, and threshold requirements. The Essence has a much less obvious wall profile while the Essence-H wall profile has a larger presence. The Essence has 3 guide blocks that will be installed to your threshold while the Essence-H only requires 1 guide block. The Essence requires a 2-3/4” minimum threshold width while the Essence-H requires a minimum 3-1/4’” flat threshold space for the wall profiles and 2-3/4” of threshold space for the center guide block. Both models can accommodate up to ¼” for out of plumb conditions. If you have any other questions, please contact a DreamLine PreSales Consultant at 866.282.8413. What is the walk through height? I am 6'4" and don't want to duck walking into the shower.

Asked by: Thor
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The walk through height is 71-11/16". If you would like something without a header, you may want to look at the Mirage-Z shower door. It is not a bypass model, but it does not have any type of header to duck under. I have attached a link to this door for you to view. https://dreamline.com/shower-doors/mirage-z-sliding-shower-door_shdr-1948724-01.html If you have any other questions or need help selecting a shower door, please contact a DreamLine PreSales Consultant at 866.282.8413. Can the Dreamline Essence Shower doors be installed on DreamLine SlimLine 32 in. D x 60 in. W x 2 3/4 in. H Right Drain Single Threshold Shower Base?

Asked by: mscoogle
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. A 60" Essence Shower Door will work on the 60" shower base that you mentioned. Please make sure to select the 60" door option when making your selection. A 48" shower door will not fit on a 60" shower base, however. If you have any other questions, please contact a DreamLine PreSales Consultant at 866.282.8413. What side should the clearmax label be on the glass doors?  Should you be able to read it from inside the shower or outside?  Mine were installed two different ways.  I love the doors!

Asked by: Rebecca1
The instructions that came with my doors have no indication of which side should be inside. Great! I've already installed them and removed the ClearMax label - without noting which side was which.

My acrylic shower base threshold tilts inward (front to back) which causes guide blocks to not be level. Will this cause problems with glass door lining up with guide blocks?

Asked by: Tones44
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. Most prefab shower bases have a threshold that pitches inward by about 3° to 5°. If that is the case with your shower base, you will be fine. If you pitch is greater than that, you will have an issue installing any shower door. We recommend that you reach out to a DreamLine PreSales Consultant to discuss your shower base threshold to better advise you. DreamLine PreSales Consultants can be reached by phone at 866-282-8413 or by email at support@dreamline.com. We are available M-F from 9am-6pm EST. can this be installed on a curbless shower?

Asked by: Kitchen Chick
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The Essence can be installed to a curbless shower base. You will want to make sure that you have an area at least 2-3/4" wide with appropriate pitch in the area where the shower door is to be installed. If you have any other questions, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.8378. We are available 8am-6pm EST, Monday through Friday and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
