By choosing DreamLine products, you can rest assured that they are engineered with durable, top-notch materials. However, proper and regular maintenance is still important to keep your products in excellent condition. This will help you extend the lifespan of your products and maintain their optimal performance for years to come. It is important to follow these general maintenance tips, as well as any that come with your DreamLine product.
Glass: To ensure long-lasting life for your glass shower products: wipe them off after each use with a soft cloth. Rinse and wipe off the glass using either a soft cloth or a squeegee to prevent soap buildup and water spots (Hard water can etch the surface of the glass over time if left to dry). To prevent scratching the surface: never use abrasive cleaners or cleaning products that contain scouring agents. NEVER use bristle brushes or abrasive sponges that may scratch the surface of the glass.
Hardware: To ensure a long-lasting finish: wipe off all metal parts after each use with a soft cloth. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or cleaning products containing ammonia, bleach, or acid. If accidentally used, rinse the surface as soon as possible to prevent damage to the finish (peeling or corrosion). After cleaning the polished finishes, rinse thoroughly and wipe dry with a soft, clean cloth. Clean stainless steel surfaces at least once a week. When applying stainless steel cleaner or polish to stainless steel hardware, work with the grain (not across the grain). NEVER use an abrasive sponge or cloth, steel wool, or wired brush, as these may permanently scratch the surfaces.
Note: To maximize the life of your door, it is important to regularly inspect the glass and other hardware for misalignment, proper attachment, and/or damage. Contact DreamLine with any questions or concerns.
To ensure long-lasting life for your SlimLine acrylic base and/or Q-Wall back walls, wipe them off after each use with a soft cloth. To clean the acrylic base or back walls, use non-abrasive sprays or cream-based cleaners. Avoid aerosol spray cleaners. NEVER use abrasive cleansers, metal brushes, or scrapers that could scratch or dull the surface.
General: DreamStone products are stain and abrasion-resistant; however, the finish requires reasonable care.
IMPORTANT: Because cleaning products change over time, always check the manufacturer’s instructions to make sure they are compatible with plastic. DO NOT use a cleaner if the label indicates it should not be used on plastics. DO NOT use spray-on cleaners that require daily use without immediately rinsing with water to stop the chemical cleaning reaction because damage will result and void the warranty.
Day-To-Day Cleanup: Simply wipe the surfaces with a clean towel to remove watermarks and residues. All DreamStone products can be cleaned with warm water, a soft cloth, and normal household detergents or cleansers, such as Fantastic, Formula 409, Clorox Clean-up, Handy Andy, Mr. Clean, or Lestoil. Always rinse off cleaners within five minutes of application. If necessary, use an abrasive cleaner such as Ajax or Comet with a nylon brush or pad to remove build-up on the shower floor pebble surface. DO NOT Use steel wool or a wire brush. This will damage the surface.
Caulking Joints: If silicone caulking was applied after installation of the wall panels or tile, inspect the caulking joints monthly for damage or any signs of separation from the mating surface. Cracks in the caulking will allow water to leak into the surrounding surfaces. Reapply caulking to any joint showing signs of wear or cracking. Failure to inspect and repair caulking joints will void the warranty.
Regular disinfections provide an effective defense against various types of bacteria susceptible of developing in the deposits that build up over time in all bathtubs and showers. For daily maintenance cleaning, use a moist cloth and gentle liquid detergent. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners, scrapers, metal brushes, or any items or products that could scratch or dull the surface.
Paint Stains: Use either turpentine or a paint thinner.
Joint compound: Use a plastic or wood spatula covered with a damp cloth. DO NOT use a metal blade or a metal brush.
IMPORTANT: If a rubber mat is used, it must be removed immediately after each use. Ignoring this recommendation will cause damage not covered by the warranty.
Certain types of therapeutic products, when added to bath water or if applied non-diluted directly in the bath, may damage the unit finish. Test the product on a small inconspicuous surface prior to use.
Dust the vanity regularly with soft, non-lint-producing cloth or household dusting products. Clean the vanity with a gentle, non-abrasive household cleaner. Make sure to dry the wood immediately with a soft cloth/towel.
The ceramic sink can be cleaned using standard ceramic cleaning agents available at your local supplier.
Important: Shade variations and patterns are an inherent characteristic of stone (e.g., granite, marble, engineered stone). Stone tops will vary from product to product. Use caution when placing items such as soap or any fragranced material on the stone surface. Use a soap dish or similar items to protect the surface if placing any soap or fragranced products on the stone. If soap or fragranced products come in contact with the stone top, rinse the surface with water and dry using a soft, non-abrasive cloth.
Warning! You must use cleaning agents that are safe for stone. Check your cleaning agents' use restrictions before using them on any stone. Damage to the stone may result. The vanity manufacturer is not responsible for damage caused by improper cleaning agents or soap used. The warranty will not cover damage caused by improper soap or cleaning agents.
DO NOT use products to clean the stone top that contain acetone, lemon, vinegar, or other acids, as these may cause damage to the stone surface. Periodically reseal the stone top using an appropriate stone sealer available from your local store. Follow the manufacturer's directions on how to apply.
