SlimLine Single Threshold Shower Base is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected. This shower base worked as expected. No complaints from my installer. It does NOT flex when you stand on it and needed no additional support. It has a nice texture under your feet which also seems easy to clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for This base is not structural and relies heavily on the bed you set it in.You will not be able to set his base in regular cement of any kind or consisity. Make sure you use a Lightweight Bedding Mortar.Like: CustomFloat Bedding Mortar. Many use STRUCTO-LITE Basecoat Plaster. Dried product is 15% lighter than water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Construction Question : "Benny" commented, "You DO NOT have to use Mortar/Plaster". Then why does the Dreamline "Installation Guide" show the "Cut-Away" View mentioning Mortar/Plaster ?? I nailed mine to the Studs and have moved on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like standing on wet blue ice Because I'm disabled, I needed to replace my tub with a safer, step-in shower. I chose this base because of its low threshold and advertised non-slip properties. However, the first time I used it, I almost fell through the glass shower doors. The base was like standing on wet blue ice. I only escaped serious injury by hauling myself out of the shower by my grad bars. Until I get a non-slip mat for the base, I'm wearing Crocs into the shower. Incredibly dangerous!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Slimline Shower Base Bought it online through Lowe’s. Looked at other websites as well but Lowe’s was close to my home and had faster lead times. Center drain rectangle, white. Pretty basic. Using it for a custom dog bath that I am putting in my basement. Everything was great but the packaging made it difficult/impossible to confirm product specifications without tearing into the box. Please put a cut through panel or product information on the label, which is large and easy to read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shower base I bought this base for a tub to shower conversion. The contractor had no issues with the base installation, and so far it has functioned very well. This was installed on a slab, and the contractor filled the void under the base with with concrete to insure stability. The texture improves stability, and the low threshold is great. It has only been installed for a few months, and I hope it will last for many years.

I've just purchased the 36x42 Slimline Base and want to purchase a Unidoor. Would the Unidoor-LS 40-41" be the right size based on normal construction materials? Thanks!

Asked by: Crew
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. Yes - if you stick to standard construction materials (1/2" thick backer board and 1/4" thick tile), the 40-41" Unidoor-LS should work out for you. DreamLine does still recommend that before purchasing any door, you finish the walls, then take measurements and check the walls for plumb conditions. Please note that this model requires wood reinforcement (double/side-by-side studs or 2x6 blocking) behind the finished wall on the side you intend to install the door. Hi, (Dreamline slimline) how does the water stay in the shower pan without a lip on edge of the pan threshold. We will install an enclosure but if water gets under the enclosure threshold, there is no lip to stop the water from going on the floor?

Asked by: Andy2327
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. DreamLine SlimLine shower bases have a slite pitch/slope on the threshold(s) to allow for any water that lands on the threshold to roll back into the shower towards the drain. When securing or installing any hardware for a DreamLine shower door to the threshold(s), a high-quality, mold & mildew resistant, 100% silicone caulk should be applied to seal any joints between the hardware and the threshold(s). You will be instructed to do this in the installation manual for the shower door. If you have any other questions, we invite you to contact our DreamLine PreSales Consultants at 866-282-8413. We can also be reached by sending an email to support@dreamline.com. Our hours of operation are 9am-6pm EST, Monday through Friday. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine.

Does this base work with Mirage X sliding shower door 56-60?

Asked by: Castile
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The product you are viewing is a 32x32 single threshold base which will be entirely too small for the Mirage-X. You will want to select any of our 60" wide single threshold bases. The 60" bases are available with a left, right, or center drain and in the following sizes: 30x60, 32x60, 34x60, and 36x60. Any of the 60" single threshold bases will be compatible with the 56-60" Mirage-X sliding shower door. Does this come with a styrofoam base

Asked by: Danp42
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. DreamLine shower bases must be set in a bed of sand-mix mortar. There is no styrofoam that comes with the base and no styrofoam should be used at all for the installation of the shower base. Does the 32 by 60 base work with the DreamLine Elegance-LS 57 3/4 - 59 3/4 in?

Asked by: Tim5
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. Yes - these two products are compatible. As long as you stick to standard construction materials (1/2" thick backer board and 1/4" thick tile). After you install the base and get all the other materials up and finish the walls, you should fall somewhere in that size range where a 57-3/4" - 59-3/4" Elegance-LS will fit the finished opening. where the flanges attached to studs should there be level strip of wood underneath attached to wall studs to help support the edges?

Asked by: tile guy
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. All DreamLine SlimLine shower bases are required to be set in a mortar and installed up against the studs. You should not be fastening the base to the studs with screws or nails as this will compromise the product and completely void the warranty. Please refer to the installation manual for guidance and do not deviate from the instructions that are provided. If you have questions about the installation, please contact our support team at at 866-731-8378 or by email at support@dreamline.com. We are available M-F from 8am-6pm EST. Do the Slimline shower bases need to be screwed to the studs after setting on mortar base? The instructions don’t say to, but several contractors I talked to said it does need screws installed through pre drilled holes. Can you clarify please?

Asked by: Juliagg820
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. Screwing the tile flanges of the DreamLine SlimLine shower base to the studs can damage the shower base and will completely and immediately void the warranty. The shower base is to only be set in the sand-mix mortar bed. Please disregard anything you have heard from contractors telling you otherwise and only do the steps that are stated in the installation manual. Can you put the backer board over top of the flange? Do you have to keep it 1/8” above it? I feel like it would be more waterproof overlapping the flange.

Asked by: tburton85
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. You must follow the instructions for the installation as they are written and install the backer board above the tile flange. Overlapping the tile flange will make it so that you have an irregularity in your vertical walls where it will narrow drastically down at the bottom when you apply your finished wall material (i.e. tile). This drastic narrowing at the bottom will make the installation of a DreamLine shower door impossible in the opening. Also, deviating from the installation instructions in any way could compromise the product, lead to damages to your home, and will completely and immediately void the warranty. We recommend that the shower base be installed by a licensed, insured, and reputable professional contractor.
