SlimLine Double Threshold Shower Base is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect product My contractor was delighted with this product. I had purchased a different brand and when it arrived we realized it wouldn't work. Then found this Dreamline product. It worked perfectly with our "Vigo" shower enclosure. I preferred it to the original Vigo product. It had a lower threshold. The 'diamond pattern' is nice and non-slip. Contractor said the construction eliminated one step for support underneath that he had anticipated. Completely happy with this purchase. (And it was cheaper than the first one I ordered--couldn't return that one but decided the loss was worth it.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from just right Instructions to install are good. We decided to use this instead of building our own shower base to save some time. It's not as nice as tile, but will be easier to clean. I'm not sure if we scratched it while installing it or if it came that way, but be careful when fitting it against the bare studs if your tile backer board is already up. If your floor isn't level, pour leveling compound to get it there before throwing down your mud base....it will make the job a lot easier. We also used the DreamLine glass shower enclosure. Absolutely make sure every angle of the base is level so the glass sits properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great! I needed a small shower for a tiny bathroom and this one just fit. It looks great and I couldn't be happier with it. Pallet it arrived on was really broken up so we were worried something was broken but all was well. Do open upon receiving as they ask you to just to be sure it's arrived in good shape.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Attractive base, installation more difficult then should have been I bought this shower base for a remodel I'm performing. I am an amateur when it comes to bathroom remodels but very handy and have had alot of success with other DIY projects on my house. My wife loved the look of this base and it seems to be fairly sturdy for what it is. There are quite a few of these DIY shower base pans on the market with as many different installation processes. I'm a stickler for following instructions so I reviewed the manual thoroughly. As I began the installation, the first thing I found was that the support rings had not been leveled. The pan would "wobble" when placed on the floor. I thought the floor was unlevel at first but using a 48" level quickly showed the floor level and flat (it should have been since I had just replaced it with new subfloor due to previous water damage). Using a straight edge, I gently sanded the rings down until all was level and flush. So, with proper dry fit, time to put some mortar down. However, the manual did not say how much and the diagram was somewhat confusing. I didn't know if the mortar was just to provide lateral support for the rings or does the mortar help to actually support the shower pan base? Called tech support line and was told to "fill in the space between the floor and the pan" and that I should taper the mortar from 3/8" to 5/8" from the drain to the edge. Well, after two attempts, and two 60 pound bags of mortar, I re-evaluated. The instructions say that the pan will have to be "pressed" into place. This is impossible to do with the amount of mortar tech support told me to use. Essentially you would have to apply enough force to "squish" the mortar out from underneath the support rings. Mortar does not flow that easily. So, spoke with some professionals who work in construction. After describing the design of the shower pan (specifically the support rings) they said the mortar is only there to provide lateral support (keep it from moving around) and that only a very thin layer was needed. Followed there advice and my shower pan is now successfully installed. So, to sum up, the shower pan was not level, the instructions were not clear, and tech support was less then helpful. I like the way it looks, but I don't know that I would buy this product from them again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly as expected We have installed but have not yet used this shower pan - we are still in the process of tiling. Installation couldn't have been more simple, the pan itself is quite level, and the quality is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice When I first saw this product I was taken a back by the price, I thought that it seemed low and maybe the quality wasnt there. Well I read the reviews and decided to try it and I was not disappointed. I am a contractor and find this to be a real nice base and I matched it with a Dreamline Shower Door which impressed me as well

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice quality, look and feel! Very impressed with how this shower pan looks and feels. I especially like the larger, raised-squares slip resistant flooring. What I had before looked like sand paper and was impossible to clean. I haven't had this one long enough to have to clean it, but I suspect I won't have the same issues as my previous floor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Corner Base Exactly as specified. Great quality and value. The only caveat I would give is to order your base and surround at the same time and if you’re unsure, call the order desk and discuss with them to make sure you are ordering the correct combination.

Can you please let me know which shower enclosure will work with base model DLT-1032320? Thank you!

Asked by: Jason29485
For a 32x32" double threshold shower base, you will want to get an enclosure that has dimensions that are approximately 30x30". To fit up onto the curbs of the base, the glass must have slightly smaller dimensions than the base. In this size, we offer products from our Unidoor series (Unidoor, Unidoor Plus, and Unidoor-X) and our Flex model series. Will Model #DL-6789-09 36" x 36" French corner enclosure/doors work with this item?

Asked by: TeePee
Model # DL-6789-09 is actually a kit that will already include the shower base and the glass enclosure. Model DL-6789-09 will include the 36x36" double threshold SlimLine shower base and the matching 34-1/2" x 34-1/2" French Corner shower enclosure. Please note that these two items will already be paired for size and the glass enclosure will be slightly smaller than the base. This is so the glass will fit up onto the curbs of the shower base. Can this base be used with the 42in x 42in dream stone walls

Asked by: Dan36
Yes, you can use the DreamStone walls with the SlimLine shower bases. SlimLine shower bases will require installation in a bed of mortar directly up against studs. Once this is complete, you will need to hang 1/2" thick backer board around the shower base, The DreamStone walls would then be trimmed to fit your opening before they are installed and glued to the backer board for installation. Can the SlimLine Double threshold offset drain in a 36x36 size be used with the flex Pivot doors, and the Q-wall surround panels to make for the full 4sided enclosure? I am looking for a bathroom remodel & the centered drain location isn't possible.

Asked by: cgall
Unfortunately, no - you cannot use a double threshold shower base for an alcove application because this will result in very serious water damage to your home. The double threshold shower bases only have tiling flanges on 2 sides and for alcove installation, you need a base with tiling flanges on 3 sides (left, right, and back wall). Also, using any DreamLine product for any purpose other than for what it is intended for will completely void the warranty on the product. Can the base be recessed into the floor for curbles entry? It will be the DLT-1036360-88 with SHEN-8134340-89 glass.

Asked by: JamieE
We do not recommend recessing the shower base into your floor because this will completely void the product warranty. The DLT-1036360-88 is compatible with the SHEN-8134340-89 shower enclosure. Can I screw through the lip/tile flange into the studs?

Asked by: BT12
Please do not drill into the tile flanges and fasten them to the studs with screws as this will completely void the warranty and will also very likely damage the shower base. DreamLine SlimLine shower bases are designed to be installed directly up against studs in only a bed of sand-mix mortar.
