Mirage-X Sliding Tub Door is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! The design is sleek and modern without feeling cold and sterile. The quality is great and the door slides smoothly. The brushed nickel color goes great with all of my fixtures. I will say just make sure that you know this can’t be glued down and needs to be drilled into your tub to stay upright. It’s too heavy otherwise so make note of this. My tub is cast iron and required a stronger drill bit to get into it. My contractor was a bit apprehensive about ruining the tub because of this but it worked out well. Speak to your hardware store for drill recommendations or someone with the knowledge to put this in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy if you have cast iron I've been remodeling my bathroon and just put in a new cast iron tub. I purchased this glass door because I'm tall and wanted a frameless sliding glass door that I wouldn't hit my head on. Going through the instructions, it only offers instructions for installation over acrylic tubs or tile. So I called Dreamline's customer service to ask them what size holes and screws to use for installing over cast iron. They were very unhelpful, and said they dont recommend installing on cast iron. Refused to answer any questions. Would have been nice if they stated this on their product .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks classy and was easy to install. My wife and I are 63 and we installed it in 2 hours. Most of that time was drilling holes into porcelain tile and porcelain steel tub. Yes you can drill through a porcelain steel tub to mount the bottom rail. Using duct tape a porcelain drill bit and a metal bit it was easy. This is our second door we bought from Dreamline. I’ve included a picture of the first shower door which has been up for four years and looks as good a it did when we first put it up. We have one more bathroom to up date and we’ll be using another Dreamline door.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shower doors Not practical, from a cleaning perspective, not good at all, can only open one side of the doors, so have to get in tub wipe half with not water running, get out finish wiping out, cannot reach the faucet from the outside of the shower area. Also because of the seal have to take doors apart to clean the area between the doors, look nice but not practical.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right out of the box Best product I've ever bought that comes in a box. The glass and chrome were of the highest quality. The hardware kits we're we'll marked and extra screws were supplied. Even the step by step directions were very good, and illustrated perfectly. These shower doors were worth every penny. Thank you Dream line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A truly "frameless" tub door I purchased this door (Nov. 2017) because my bathroom was very small. Since the door is truly frameless it helps the bathroom appear larger. Glass is thicker than other doors, hardware is sturdy, handle isn't some cheapo junk. Very, very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from beautiful We have now purchased three of these shower doors and installed all three ourselves. They are amazing. Their customer service is fantastic, as we needed one replacement part, which was quickly sent. We cannot recommend them more highly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I installed this a couple of months ago and we are very happy with it. It is an unexpectedly high quality product, not average. It was packed extremely well, with easy to follow instructions and quality parts. An exceptional product!

Do I have to drill into the tub to install ?

Asked by: Quiana
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. Yes, you will need to drill into the tub to install the guide rail. The moving panel travels through that guide rail and it is very important that it be installed securely. If you have any other questions, please contact a DreamLine PreSales Consultant at 866.282.8413. We are available 9am-6pm EST, Monday through and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Can the sliding panel be installed on the outside?  My shower head is on the left and I’m afraid that the water will simply spray through the crack between the panels

Asked by: Julio
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The sliding panel cannot be installed on the outside of the stationary panel. The top and bottom guide rails were not designed to allow that. There are vinyl strips on the stationary panel and the back end of the moving panel that will help prevent leaking from that gap. With configurations such as yours, we often recommend a bypass door where both panels move. This will allow you to place the inner panel on the same side as your shower head to help prevent leaking. Even though this panel moves, you don't have to ever move it once it is in place on the shower head side. You may to consider the Encore Tub Door as an option. What is difference  between mirage x and z

Asked by: Chrissy
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The Mirage-Z is an upgraded version of the Mirage-X that allows for out of plumb conditions on the closing side, has a double sided handle, has our patented L-bracket that is reversible for right of left side installation, and features our SafeStop and SafeClose bumpers. While both doors are beautiful and engineered to very exacting standards, the Mirage-Z is the latest version. You cannot go wrong with either one. what is a different between mirage x and Z bathtub door ? Can I install  mirage x or Z on fiberglass tub  ?

Asked by: kienhoaca
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. All DreamLine tub doors can be installed on fiberglass tubs as long as there is a 90 degree angle where your wall meets the tub threshold. The Mirage-Z is a version of the Mirage-X that offers some out of plumb accommodations (3/8"), a double sided handle and SoftClose bumpers and door stops.
