Enigma-Z Sliding Shower Door is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Door! Great quality shower door. Install is straight forward too. My only issue was the top rail arrived slightly bent (this was most likely bent at the factory). This proved to be problematic, but was able to resolve by putting into a vice and bending back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enigma Z Great looking shower doors. BUT narrow opening on 48" model. 60" model is automatically larger because of greater width. I've installed and used both.

The fixed panel resides on the "outside" of the shower, and the sliding panel, on the "inside". Is it possible to assemble this so that the fixed panel resides on the inside instead, and the sliding door on the outside?

Asked by: Simon
We do not recommend installing this unit with the stationary panel on the inside. If you do this, you will most likely experience a lot of leaking under the door glass because you will not be able to install the anti-splash guard at the bottom. Also, if you install the stationary glass on the inside, all of the hardware will be facing backwards and you will be viewing the "unfinished" sides of the hardware. This will look very cosmetically unattractive. Lastly, it is important to note that installing any DreamLine product in any way that goes outside of the provided installation instructions will completely void the warranty. How easy is it, once installed, to remove the lower guide so that the sliding door panel can be pulled slightly inward to allow cleaning of the overlap of the glass door and the stationary glass panel?

Asked by: Captain Randy
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The lower guide block should not be removed. The vinyl anti water strips can be removed to give you access to the void between the panels. Most customers use a soft cloth in that area. If you have any other questions, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm EST and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to [email protected]. The current opening without tile of our shower is 56 1/4". By adding tile, we'll most likely lose another inch. From reading the other questions, it seems like this would mostly affect the opening width. Can we still using a bypass style shower door here?

Asked by: Annette Z
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. We strongly recommend that you wait until your tile is installed before measuring for a shower door. The Enigma-Z that you have referenced is not a bypass shower door but rather a shower door with a stationary panel and one moving panel. You are correct that decreasing the size of the opening within the size range of the product will give you a slightly smaller walk through opening. The Enigma-Z has a walk through opening of appx. 26" when installed to its full width of 60". Adjusting the door down to 56-1/4" will give you a walk through opening of appx. 22-1/4" wide. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. My shower opening is 54". Will the 56-60 model fit? i don't mind some light modification on my part but is it possible?

Asked by: BrianG
We do not recommend the Enigma-Z for an opening that small. You would be reducing the walk through opening to an uncomfortable measurement if the door is modified to 54". We do, however, have the Encore that would work. The newest version is designed to fit an opening 50-54" wide, so it would work beautifully for your opening. You can place "Encore" in the search field or choose the Encore field under the "Collection" filter. What is the difference between the Enigma-X and the Enigma-Z? I see none in any of the specs and comparison. Thank you.

Asked by: Jerry
Thank you for your inquiry! The differences between the Enigma-X and Enigma-Z are purely design differences. The hardware is exactly the same quality, as is the glass. We would urge you to enlarge the photos on your computer and look closely at the top of each model. Please note that the moving door panel on the Enigma-Z hangs below the upper guide rail, while on the Enigma-X it is in line with the top of the stationary panel. Both doors have a distinctive look and will be a showpiece in your bath.
