SlimLine Single Threshold Shower Base is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as expected. This shower base worked as expected. No complaints from my installer. It does NOT flex when you stand on it and needed no additional support. It has a nice texture under your feet which also seems easy to clean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for This base is not structural and relies heavily on the bed you set it in.You will not be able to set his base in regular cement of any kind or consisity. Make sure you use a Lightweight Bedding Mortar.Like: CustomFloat Bedding Mortar. Many use STRUCTO-LITE Basecoat Plaster. Dried product is 15% lighter than water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Construction Question : "Benny" commented, "You DO NOT have to use Mortar/Plaster". Then why does the Dreamline "Installation Guide" show the "Cut-Away" View mentioning Mortar/Plaster ?? I nailed mine to the Studs and have moved on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like standing on wet blue ice Because I'm disabled, I needed to replace my tub with a safer, step-in shower. I chose this base because of its low threshold and advertised non-slip properties. However, the first time I used it, I almost fell through the glass shower doors. The base was like standing on wet blue ice. I only escaped serious injury by hauling myself out of the shower by my grad bars. Until I get a non-slip mat for the base, I'm wearing Crocs into the shower. Incredibly dangerous!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Slimline Shower Base Bought it online through Lowe’s. Looked at other websites as well but Lowe’s was close to my home and had faster lead times. Center drain rectangle, white. Pretty basic. Using it for a custom dog bath that I am putting in my basement. Everything was great but the packaging made it difficult/impossible to confirm product specifications without tearing into the box. Please put a cut through panel or product information on the label, which is large and easy to read.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shower base I bought this base for a tub to shower conversion. The contractor had no issues with the base installation, and so far it has functioned very well. This was installed on a slab, and the contractor filled the void under the base with with concrete to insure stability. The texture improves stability, and the low threshold is great. It has only been installed for a few months, and I hope it will last for many years.

What size is the rough opening

Asked by: Koc1962
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The dimensions that we provide for our shower bases are the dimensions to the studs, so for model # DLT-1132320, your alcove opening will need to be framed out for a 32x32 shower base. Do I have to use mortar underneath this, or can it go direct on to the concrete? It is currently level with nothing underneath it.

Asked by: Timmay
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. Our shower bases must be installed on a bed of mortar for a safe and secure installation. Do not use concrete, however. Sand based mortar is what we recommend. If you have any other questions, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.8378. We are available 8am-6pm EST, Monday through and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com or use our LiveChat feature on DreamLine.com. What is the thickness of the tiling flanges that are 1-3/8" high on the Dreamline Model: DLT-1136600 36 x 60 shower base?

Asked by: Ben727
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The tile flanges for our SlimLine shower bases are approximately 1/4" thick, so you will need to hang 1/2" backer board just above the flanges to ensure that the backer board gets out past the tile flanges and that your finished wall material will cover the tile flanges and conceal them behind the finished wall. Please consult the shower base installation manual for further guidance on this. If you have any other questions, we invite you to contact our DreamLine PreSales Consultants at 866-282-8413. You make a 48" x 36" single threshold shower base with a center drain. Why don't you make the same with a left hand or right hand drain?

Asked by: PhilT
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. We make our line of shower bases in the most statistically common sizes and configurations used by builders and remodeling professionals. For the 48" wide base, the center drain location is the most commonly used. We are sorry that we are unable to fulfill your request at this time. Good Morning, I'm looking to replace my old shower base. How do I measure the old base? Is it wall to end of base for L &W or do i measure the inside of the base?

Asked by: DV1017
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. Unfortunately, there is no way to measure the dimensions of your existing shower base with it currently installed. You will have to remove it to measure it. DreamLine shower bases are designed to install to your studs, so the dimensions for our bases are based on the assumption that you will have the area framed up to fit the base prior to installation. We recommend that you remove the existing base, then measure the available space you have so that you can select the right size DreamLine Base to fit your space. If you have any other questions, we invite you to contact our DreamLine PreSales Consultants at 866-282-8413. We can also be reached by sending an email to support@dreamline.com. what is the difference between single and double threshold

Asked by: spanky
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. A single threshold base has one curb for a shower door to sit on and is designed for an alcove installation. A double threshold base has two curbs for glass to sit on and is designed for a corner installation. If you have any other questions, please contact a DreamLine PreSales Consultant at 866.282.8413.
