I have a shower opening of 58 and 3/8" at the bottom and 58 and 5/8" at the top. Would the 58-to-58.5 be the correct door to order?

Asked by: Jackson123
Unfortunately, with your opening being 58-5/8" at one point, we can not recommend this shower door for you. Your measurements span 2 size ranges. The good news is that DreamLine has a shower door for just about every size opening. The Unidoor (model # SHDR-20587210) would work for you, however. Another option would be the Elegance shower door (model #SHDR-4158720). Either of these shower doors will work for your measurements. If you have any other questions, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm EST and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com. Contractor says plumb opening after all tile etc. is 70 7/8". Is that something he can order at Homedepot since its not one of your standard sizes? How fast can we get it?

Asked by: Flavia
Great question Flavia! Your finished opening size is something that DreamLine's Custom Glass Group can configure for you. Being able to use stock panels to make your door will save time without any loss of DreamLine quality. Please have your Home Depot representative send an email to customglass@dreamline.com with your finished measurements and note the shower door model that you like the most. Our Custom Glass Group will return a quote withing 1-2 business days for you to consider. Hope this is helpful. As far as timing, if your shower door can be configured from panels within our core product line, it should not be long at all. Shipping will most likely be a week to 10 days. Does the door swing both in/out?

Asked by: Jules
The DreamLine Unidoor-X shower doors now feature adjustable hinges, allowing you to choose if you would like the door to open inward or outward. The hinges come to you pre-set by the factory to open outward, which is the recommend position. A simple adjustment is all that it takes to allow the door to open inward. If you have any other questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm EST and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com. How do I get the 6" hinged glass piece to stay in the channel? I've tried different types of caulk and even glue and it still will not stay when I attach the door.

Asked by: Ed585
Thank you for your question. The u-channel for the 6" hinged panel should have a good amount of clear Waterproof silicone caulk applied inside the channel first. You will then insert the panel and must let it cure before proceeding to install the moving door panel. We do not recommend adhesive be used. The key is to let that silicone caulk cure completely before installing the moving panel. ? work in one piece moulded fiberglass stall 72 h-53 w- was told might not be enough anchoring support for some glass systems because of the weight of the glass and attaching to fiberglass but I am presuming with the metal strip not a problem?

Asked by: Dr B
This is a great question. DreamLine shower doors are meant to be installed on solid walls, and many require studs behind your finished walls. We also require 90 degree angles where the shower wall meets the shower threshold. One other requirement is that our doors require finished walls at least 72" high and in some models 76" or even 79" of finished wall surface. With those requirements in mind, you will need to check your enclosure. If you push on you wall and there is give or the wall moves a little bit, this indicates that there is a pocket of dead space behind the fiberglass and not a solid wall directly behind the fiberglass. If the join where the wall meets the threshold is curved or a radius, this will not work. Lastly, if the height of your finished wall is not at least 72" from the threshold, our doors will not work for your enclosure. While we would love for you to purchase a DreamLine shower door, it is more important that you purchase a door that is designed to be used with your enclosure and will provide a safe and secure installation. The manufacturer of your enclosure may have shower door options available, so please check with them. I want to fit the shower door and panels into a space as follows: 53.5 inches wide at floor, and 53.75 inches at the top. Is this correct model to fit: DreamLine Unidoor-X 53 - 53 1/2 in. W x 72 in. H Hinged Shower Door?

Asked by: Neil
Thank you for your inquiry! We are so glad you asked this question before ordering. The Unidoor-X that you would need that will work with your measurements is the model that fits an opening from 53-1/2" to 54" wide. The model number for that is D32306572L for a left hand orientation or D32306572R right hand orientation. The Glass door attached to a hinged panel. The right or left designates which side this hinged panel with the moving door attached to it will mount on when you are looking at your shower from outside of it. I hope that helps. You can place those model numbers in any of our retailer web site search field and they will come up for you. If you have any other questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866-731-2244 or via email at support@dreamline.com. How far does the door on Model # D1302272-04 open?  Is there a limit, for example 90 degrees, or does it open as far as outside obstructions allow?  For example, 135 degrees or more?

Asked by: pete9753
Thank you for your inquiry! The hinges on the Unidoor-X are designed to open slightly past 90°, stopping at appx. 104°.
