Had the door prof. installed. It slams closed very hard, rattling the glass. Is it supposed to close like this? It seems like being glass, it would be designed to close softly. The adjustable screws only change where it stops when it's closed.

Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. The hinges are self closing and are designed and engineered to work with this model. The adjustability on the hinge is only for closing location, not to adjust the softness of the close. We can assure you that this is a very durable door and the closing of the panel will not damage it in any way. If you have any other questions, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm EST and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com. D12922572-04 How much does each of the three pieces of glass weigh? Any suggestions for lifting into place (suction cups etc) ? What type/brand of fast setting silicone should I use? I have your Installation manual--above questions not answered.

Asked by: BillBill
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. DreamLine recommends professional installation for our products due to the size, weight and fragile nature of the product. The 6" hinged panel weighs appx. 15 lbs. while the 22" panel weighs appx. 35 lbs. The moving panel weighs appx. 75 lbs. Most professional installers will use rubber gloves or glass suction cups when moving tempered glass panels. We recommend using clear, waterproof, 100% silicone caulk. Please do not use silicone adhesive. If you have any other questions, please reach out to DreamLine's Customer Support Team at at 866-731-2244 or by email at support@dreamline.com. We are available M-F from 8am-7pm EST and Saturday from 9am-5pm EST. Thank you for considering DreamLine.

Does the door swing both in/out?

Asked by: Jules
The DreamLine Unidoor-X shower doors now feature adjustable hinges, allowing you to choose if you would like the door to open inward or outward. The hinges come to you pre-set by the factory to open outward, which is the recommend position. A simple adjustment is all that it takes to allow the door to open inward. If you have any other questions or would like to discuss this further, please contact the DreamLine Customer Support Team at 866.731.2244. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm EST and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You may also send an email to support@dreamline.com. ? work in one piece moulded fiberglass stall 72 h-53 w- was told might not be enough anchoring support for some glass systems because of the weight of the glass and attaching to fiberglass but I am presuming with the metal strip not a problem?

Asked by: Dr B
This is a great question. DreamLine shower doors are meant to be installed on solid walls, and many require studs behind your finished walls. We also require 90 degree angles where the shower wall meets the shower threshold. One other requirement is that our doors require finished walls at least 72" high and in some models 76" or even 79" of finished wall surface. With those requirements in mind, you will need to check your enclosure. If you push on you wall and there is give or the wall moves a little bit, this indicates that there is a pocket of dead space behind the fiberglass and not a solid wall directly behind the fiberglass. If the join where the wall meets the threshold is curved or a radius, this will not work. Lastly, if the height of your finished wall is not at least 72" from the threshold, our doors will not work for your enclosure. While we would love for you to purchase a DreamLine shower door, it is more important that you purchase a door that is designed to be used with your enclosure and will provide a safe and secure installation. The manufacturer of your enclosure may have shower door options available, so please check with them.
