Assuming the floor pan attaches to the studs (based on the 60" width), how thick of a backerboard can be used behind the walls? Can you supply the location of the drain opening (left)? Any technical drawings available would be apprecated as well. Thanks!

Thank you for your inquiry! You are correct that the base attaches to the studs. You can use up to 1/2" thick backer board, applied to the studs to the top of the flange around the base. The drain opening depends on the size of the base that you need. From your question I cannot tell what depth of base you are considering. On the product page for this kit, please select the drain location and the size of the base that you need from the drop down menu. You can then click on the "Technical Drawing" link on either the Description page or the Specifications page and the drawing will come up for you. What shower door is recommend for this unit? Can you use any shower door?
Asked by: Marie
Thank you for your inquiry! There are 3 base size options for this unit, so the size and model of door would depend on which size you choose. There are a few things to consider when choosing a door. The Unidoor series requires studs behind your finished wall that the moving panel will be mounted to. Other doors, such as the Elegance and Allure, do not require studs. Our recommendation would be to install your base and acrylic walls, then measure your finished opening at the top, middle and bottom. When you have your finished measurements you are welcome to call the DreamLine Customer Support Line at 866-731-2244 and we will advise you on which door will work for your opening. We will give you the model number that you need to order from one of our dealers. We are available 8am-7pm EST, Monday through Friday to help you choose the perfect shower door for your application. Doors from other manufacturers may be used, but you will need to contact them for guidance with their doors. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!
