Rated 4 out of 5 by FrancesintheMiddle from Form ahead of FunctionThis is a beautiful tub door, but I think it is a matter of style over function. The door 'slide noise' rattles like there are ball bearings loose. Also, it is difficult to tell from the one close-up photo of the support bar, but that completely ruins the look of the bathroom if you install it as directed. It is supposed to be installed on the top of the back wall of the tub angled over and attached to the glass door... since that glass door is only held on by one bolt into the wall - which is a design flaw in my opinion. The whole reason I bought this door was to have a clear view of the beautiful glass tile that was installed. That bar would detract one's eye from everything else. We did not install that bar because it was going to look so hideous.

Rated 1 out of 5 by bmac from Worked well... for about 18 months...Was very happy with this product for about 18 months/2 years... thereafter, it wasn't "gliding" very well. Eventually, I realized the problem... the bearings were failing and eventually several of the ball bearings were rolling around the tub floor... it is very difficult to move the door now, and when we do it's loud and a "rough" slide (one day it jammed in place and took some finagling to get it freed up). Unfortunately, the way it is installed, you have to remove the whole unit to get at the sliders... checking warranty options now.

Rated 4 out of 5 by arehman99 from Nice shower door but...the door height is a bit problematic if you have a low-profile tub (mine is 14 inches deep). I wish the door/glass had been taller than 58 inches as the height from the ground up is only 6 feet and that's an issue if you're a guy who's 6 feet tall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Norm W from Top rate productExcellent product and first rate customer support. I only have one complaint, the Dream Line installation manual needs a little more work, but thanks to a friendly and knowledgable customer support staff I was able to complete the installation in a few hours. The shower door looks better than a professionally installed product and makes a huge difference in our upgraded bathroom. This product truly ranks a 5 star rating and I would sincerely recommend this item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mech Engineer from Poor Engineering DesignMust admit that this shower door is heavy duty construction. However, the brush nickel finish does rust a little after a year or so. Very difficult to clean especially between the two doors where they overlap and down where the roller, door and bottom rail meets. But the kicker here is the roller and bottom rail design. The door is extremely heavy and so the rollers will wear out after a year. Now get this. The rollers cannot be removed from the bottom rail without totally dismantling the entire door system. If you don't believe, call their technical support just to inquire. So, if the stationary wall panel is silicone in place that has to be cut away as well as the silicone used to seal down the bottom rail. This is bordering on ridiculous. If you cannot replace the rollers yourself, it's like paying for an installation all over again each time the rollers go bad. Didn't realized this when my door was installed. Realized when they sent me new rollers under the warranty and had to devise a way to replace them. Because these issues, I would not recommend anyone buying the model door. Stay away.
Can you install this tub door on a cast iron tub with drilling holes in cast iron?
Asked by: Brock
Thank you for your question. The Mirage does not require drilling into your tub. The brackets that hold the bottom guide rail attach to the wall. Hope this helps.
